n-Pentane is a flammable liquid. It is used as a solvent, as a building block chemical in reactions to form other industrial substances, as a component of fuel, and as an aerosol propellant. 
Product Application:

N PENTANE (Pentane) is used principally as a blowing agent in foam production, as a propellant in aerosols and as reaction media for polymerisation processes. It is used in the laboratory as solvents that can be conveniently and rapidly evaporated.

Main Uses:

It is mainly used as high-efficiency foaming agent/blowing agent for expandable polystyrene.

n-Pentane appears as a clear colorless liquid with a petroleum-like odor. Flash point 57°F. Boiling point 97°F. Less dense than water and insoluble in water.
