Thorough Inspection Eliminates Hidden Pipeline Leak Risks
December 4, 2025

On November 16, employees from the Storage and Transportation Team A of the Quality Control and Dispatch Center at Junyuan Petroleum Group proactively assumed responsibility for the final safety checkpoint prior to commissioning the pipeline technical upgrade project. A comprehensive air-tightness test was conducted on all critical points, including every weld seam and flange connection.
Chief operator Ding Xiaomei meticulously followed safety operating procedures, inspecting each sealing node across the pipeline system—from the starting point to the terminal end. She closely monitored pressure fluctuations and listened attentively for abnormal leakage sounds to detect potential risks. During the inspection, Ding Xiaomei keenly identified an internal leak at a flange joint. Upon discovery, the team immediately halted the air-tightness test, reported the issue to workshop management, and swiftly contacted the external contractor for resolution.
Workshop management responded promptly, dispatching the contractor to the site for targeted repairs. Throughout the process, team members provided full technical support and on-site assistance to ensure precise and efficient completion. After the repair, the team re-tested the affected section to verify air-tightness. Only after confirming zero pressure loss was the pipeline approved for continued commissioning.
This successful identification and resolution of a hidden hazard exemplifies the team’s rigorous work ethic and strong safety responsibility. It effectively prevented potential quality defects and safety incidents post-commissioning. Junyuan Petroleum Group’s Quality Control and Dispatch Center will use this case as a catalyst to further institutionalize hazard inspections, strengthen risk management, and uphold the highest standards to safeguard safe production operations.
