PBS Resin
(Polybutylene Succinate)
Basic Information
PBS is a kind of bioplastic material consisting of BDO (1,4-butanediol) and succinic acid, which will be eventually biodegraded to CO2, H2O and biomass when metabolized in the soil or composted under standard conditions. After modification, it can be applied to injection molding process.
Properties
Good mechanical properties like PP, ABS.
Excellent compatibility with polyactide (compounds together with PLA etc.)
Can be used in standard processes, such as extrusion and injection molding
lower melting point than PLA (115°C vs ~160°C).
Better Biodegradability
Application
After modified, it can be applied to injection molding process. Typical products include but not limited to Café capsules, Injection Molding, Extrusion coating, Thermoforming, Paper coating, film, etc.
