The Price of Blowing Agent Rose and the Price of n-Heptane fell

Solvent Market Focus
From December 18 to December 25, the price of blowing agent continued to rise twice, the highest point was on December 20, with an increase of 1.32 percentage points, and the second price increase was on December 24, with an increase of 0.85 percentage points. The main reason for the continuous rise in the price of Pentane foaming agent is that the profit is meager, the price of raw materials is rising, and the manufacturers are under too much pressure. In view of the above reasons, it is expected that the price of blowing agent will continue to rise in the next few weeks.
The price of n-Heptane continued to fall this week, falling by 1.28 percentage points on December 29, and fell again on December 22, down by 1.57 percentage points. The reason for this price decline is that the manufacturer is to clear inventory. On the other hand, it is because of strong market demand, especially in the Indian market.

Physical Data and Uses of n-Octane

Preparation Method:
Add 100g (1.53mol) of zinc amalgam, 250ml of concentrated hydrochloric acid and 50ml of water into the reaction bottle equipped with stirrer, reflux condenser and vent pipe (extending into the bottom of the bottle), add 40g (0.35mol) of octanone-2 (2) under stirring, and slowly inject hydrogen chloride gas. If the reaction is too violent, the hydrogen chloride gas can be suspended. After 2-3H, most of the zinc amalgam reaction was completed, hydrogen chloride was stopped and placed overnight. Remove the agitator and change to steam distillation unit for steam distillation until the distillate is transparent. The upper oil layer was separated, washed twice with distilled water, fractionated after drying with anhydrous sodium sulfate, and the fraction at 124-126 ℃ was collected to obtain 26G octane (1) with a yield of 58%.

Thermodynamic Analysis on Isomerization of n-Pentane to Isopentane

The thermodynamic behaviors of n-pentane isomerization to isopentane were systematically analyzed using SRK equation, and thermodynamic data, phase state, equilibrium composition and equilibrium isomerization ratio of n-pentane under different reaction conditions were calculated. The results show that the reaction is exothermic and decreasing the reaction temperature favors the increasing of equilibrium isomerization ratio of n-pentane. When the reaction temperature is high (e.g. moderate temperature zeolite-based isomerization or solid superacid isomerization), the reaction system is gas phase and similar to ideal gas. Therefore, the effects of reaction pressure and molar ratio of hydrogen to hydrocarbon ( n(H2)/n(HC)) on equilibrium isomerization ratio of n-pentane are insignificant. At low reaction temperature (e.g. low temperature isomerization), the reaction system is gas phase or gas-liquid two-phase and shows nonideality. As a result, the influence of reaction pressure and n(H2)/n(HC) on the reaction should not be neglected. The equilibrium isomerization ratio of n-pentane can be increased by decreasing the reaction pressure or increasing n(H2)/n(HC).
